The world has changed so much since then, and lifestyles have changed.

Losing weight fast has become a major concern for many of us.

You don’t need any fancy and expensive exercise or fitness equipment for losing weight.

It is not about the perfectly sculpted and toned body.

It is about staying fit and being healthy to ensure a long, and wonderful life with your family and friends. Weight loss does not happen by itself. There are really only two ways in achieving it. The first one is by watching what you eat and the other is by seeing that you get the exercise that you need.

1. Drink lots of water. Our body needs a lot of water so drink plenty. The best thing about water is that it has no calories.

2. Drink a glass of water before you sit down and eat a meal. Water needs space so that you feel fuller without over eating.

3. If you must drink sodas, then stick to diet sodas. All those sodas and drinks that are sweetened with sugar means calories.

4. Eat things that contain a lot of water like fruits and veggies. These are about 70% to 90% water so there is nothing you have to lose by eating them. They will fill you up without adding extra pounds.

5. Increase your fiber intake. The body needs a good amount of fiber. So try to include in your diet good sources of fiber, such as cereal  breads, fruits, and veggies.

6. Eat a lot of vegetables. Vegetables are best when it comes to losing weight. Nature has a good way when it comes to picking vegetables. Leafy green ones are best. Always try to include a salad in you diet.

7. Eat only when you are hungry. Some of us tend to eat whenever we see food. We use parties as an excuse to stuff ourselves. Understand the effect of a whole week of dieting can be ruined by just one day of party food.

8. Quit snacking in between meals. Do not eat snacks in between meals. Snack on vegetables or fruit if you must.

9. Stay away from fried things. Fried things are an absolute no-no. The more fried things that you avoid, the more weight you can lose.

10. Do not skip meals. The worst thing you can do while dieting is skip a meal. You need to have at least five regular meals every day.

11. It is a myth that you should avoid carbohydrates when you are on a diet. Carbohydrates are a real source of energy and 50% of your diet should be carbohydrates.

12. Say no to alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages too are not good for you and contain a good amount of sugar.

13. Have just 1 egg every day. Eggs are not such a very good idea. It would be best to reduce eggs to 5 for the week.

14. Try to eat your vegetables raw. When you cook them, you are in taking away almost half the vitamins in them.

15. Choose white meat rather than red such as fish and poultry.

16. Reduce your consumption of pork. Pork is not something that can help with weight loss. So the less pork the better.

17. Go light on salt, too much salt is one of the causes of obesity.

18. When you decide it’s time to start working out, start slowly and don’t get discouraged. It will take your body time to adjust.

19. Try to collect some information about exercise, there are a lot of things that you can do at home. You can try browsing the net or getting a book or two on how to exercise at home.

The choice of the exercise is completely left to you but try to do whatever exercise you wish to do for at least twenty minutes. It is only after you do the exercise for twenty minutes that the actual calorie burning sets in. If you really find your day to be too full to exercise, then walking is best. Walk as much as you can, whenever you can.
